BANGALORE, INDIA: Vishal Yadav (28), a software engineer from Wipro Technologies, committed suicide by allegedly jumping from the multi-storeyed Wipro office building in Bangalore, police said today.
The deceased is a native of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, a PTI report quoted the police as saying.
Vishal was working with Wipro since 2004. He was on three months leave and last month he sent in his resignation through e-mail from his hometown which was accepted by the firm.
Wipro said Vishal was an employee of Wipro since May 17 2004.
“We regret demise of a Wipro employee, Vishal Yadav, in Bangalore, ” Wipro said in a statement.
According to preliminary information he might have fallen from one of the floors in an office building in Electronic City campus, said the statement.
“He was immediately rushed to the nearby hopsital, however despite all the efforts we were unable to save him.”
Wipro said the company is exetending all possible supports to the bereaved family and also to the investigating agencies.
It is the second suicide by techies reported in a span of one week in Bangalore, both by jumping from multy-storeyed buildings. Bikash Kumar Sharma (26), a senior network analyst of the leading IT firm Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL) committed suicide on August 19, Wednesday after jumping from the fifth floor of a building.
