Wipro gives DocSmart distribution rights to Heidelberg

BANGALORE: Wipro Technologies has signed an OEM agreement with
Heidelberg for the latter to have worldwide distribution rights for DocSmart. It
(the agreement) also allows Heidelberg to integrate DocSmart as the Document
Management solution of its ImageSmart software suite. DocSmart is an enterprise
document and information management solution jointly developed by Wipro and
MosaicSoft.

According to an official press statement, DocSmart is written in Java and
developed using distributed component technologies (CORBA and DCOM), component
oriented architecture supports Internet component models of both Sun and
Microsoft. It can store business information that originates from an
organization's administration, engineering, manufacturing, marketing and sales
efforts and can do the storing in electronic forms, including word processing
documents, text based documents, graphics, images, CAD drawings, charts,
spreadsheets, HTML pages, and e-mail messages.

DocSmart also integrates into ImageSmart Document Library via an ODMA
interface, giving the customer a wide range of publishing/authoring tools and
has browser clients that work in the Microsoft Windows, Unix and Mac
environments, the statement mentioned.

DocSmart will be bundled with ImageSmart Workflow Suite as
ImageSmart Document Library, providing a document management solution for
on-demand printing. Heidelberg sells the ImageSmart Workflow Suite as a
complimentary software product with its high output, digital high volume
printers such as the Digimaster 9110 family. Individual users who require
DocSmart can obtain it through business partners who purchase the product from
Heidelberg.
