Under the project, Wipro would be implementing a sophisticated Logistics

Management System, which would also involve integration of the solution with

Praxair’s Vehicle Tracking system (VTS), the Tank Telemetry System (TTS) and

the Demand Forecasting modules. The project will cover the corporate office of

Praxair at Bangalore and Praxair’s three Air separation units in India. This

was jointly announced by the representatives of the two companies at a press

meet in Bangalore.

Praxair India, vice president-operations, R S Dhulked "The purpose

behind the project is to enhance the Logistics Management systems of the

company. It would involve improving the "Supply Reliability" and

"Efficiency of Distribution", optimizing "Vehicle Routing"

and "Asset Utilization" and to have "online stock

visibility" to "Forecast Customer demands" more accurately. The

implementation of the Logistics Management System would help Praxair to move

from the current order based inventory management to vendor management

inventory."

Dhulked informed that the pre-implementing stages of the project involved
extensive interactions with members of Praxair US and during that stage Wipro

and Praxair worked as partners. He further remarked that Praxair is working with

Wipro due to Wipro’s global expertise, Indian focus and its high value systems

and quality standards.
