Wipro consultancy division gets new global head

BANGALORE, INDIA: Wipro Technologies, IT services provider, business of Wipro Limited today announced the appointment of Kirk Strawser as global head, Wipro Consulting Services.

T K Kurien, president, Wipro Consulting Services, Communication and Media, Global Programs and Strategic Initiatives, said, "We have seen a significant increase in demand for our consultancy business recently, especially for our cost optimization and business transformation services.”

He added that Wipro listened to the customers who were asking for higher-level advisory services to complement Wipro’s world class IT and BPO services.

“This helps set the agenda for strategic cost reduction, capital efficiency and customer experience in transformation related programs.”

Commenting on his appointment Kirk Strawser said: "The consulting market must undergo a "step change" in how we approach the business of teaming with our clients to manage cost, capital and customers.”

He added that the clients want industry specific, integrated solutions (Consulting, IT, BPO) delivered using innovative, accelerated approaches that would drive measurable improvements in critical metrics such as free cash flow and return on equity.

Kirk comes in with more than 22 years experience in the consulting industry. Prior to this he was associated with Capgemini Americas, as president, consulting services, said the release.
