HYDERABAD: Ramping up its operations here, Wipro on

Monday launched its new campus spread across 30 acres at Manikonda in the

outskirts of the city.

The new campus, built to house 3000 professionals, will be Wipro's second
largest facility in the world.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy inaugurated the new campus and
also laid the foundation stone for Wipro's third campus in the city at

Gopanapally. Wipro will build the campus at an estimated investment of Rs 100

crores on 100 acres of land.

Referring to the Manikonda campus, Wipro chairman Azim H Premji said that it
will house more than 3000 professionals.

“This is an important centre for us. It is a completely self-contained
facility and the second largest facility of Wipro. It is built to meet the

global requirements of our customers,” said Premji.

Wipro's current strength in the Andhra capital is 6000 and the Hyderabad
centre has so far generated software exports worth Rs 1200 crores, added Premji.

“What we have achieved in Andhra Pradesh is due to the political leadership in
the state,” said Premji, who also applauded the government officials.

Premji also reiterated Wipro's plans of opening a campus in the port city of
Visakhaptnam. “Going forward we are looking into large expansion plans in

Andhra Pradesh. We want to begin our Visakhaptnam centre as quickly as possible.

We want to invest more on the consumer and IT segment to adress the requirements

of the Andhra Pradesh government,” said Premji.

Chief Minister Reddy congratulated Wipro on opening their new campus in the
city. “It is heartening to know that Wipro wants to grow enormously in Andhra

Pradesh. I assure full support to Wipro in the state,” said Reddy.
