Wipro bags 10-year outsourcing deal from TVS

BANGALORE: Indian Software major Wipro said on Thursday that it has got a 10-year total outsourcing contract to manage the information-technology infrastructure and data centers of an automobile and parts distribution specialist T.V. Sundaram Iyengar & Sons.

However, the companies did not disclose the financial details of the deal.

The partnership aims at leveraging IT across all business units and functional areas of TVS & Sons.  In the initial transformation phase, Wipro will re-engineer the current IT systems of the company to achieve business IT alignment, backed by processes and tools, said a statement.

TVS & Sons, based in the southern city of Chennai, distributes commercial and passenger vehicles of various automobile manufacturers and has more than 150 outlets and sells over 50,000 vehicles, and services more than 5,00,000 vehicles per annum.
