MUMBAI: Wipro Technologies has won the 2003 Asian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award. Wipro Technologies was recognized in the second annual Asian MAKE study for creating a corporate-wide knowledge-driven culture and delivering knowledge-based products/services/solutions. The award was presented on October 15, 2003 in a ceremony, which was part of the World Knowledge Forum at Seoul, Korea.

According to the press release, as part of its approach to knowledge management (KM), Wipro has successfully used its inherent strengths in people and processes to evolve an IT-enabled framework cutting across the boundaries of culture, content, communities and business processes. Wipro has now set-up a dedicated practice around collaboration and KM, and started offering solutions to clients in areas like knowledge portals, expertise management systems, intelligent agents and executive dashboards.

"Having a unified framework has helped build a cohesive knowledge base across the company accessible to the entire user community in Wipro and the benefits of this system are passed on to our customers. Our knowledge management framework captures our learnings and experiences of all our

projects, which allow us to share best practices with our clients. Winning this award is a validation of our approach to collaboration and KM at Wipro", said Wipro Technologies Chief Quality Officer Sambuddha Deb.

The MAKE research program, conducted in association with The KNOW Network, consists of the annual Global MAKE study -- the international benchmark for world-class knowledge-driven organizations -- and regional/national MAKE studies.
