Wipro appoints Puneet Chandra as CMO, IT business

BANGALORE, INDIA: Wipro Technologies, the Global Information Technology, Consulting and Outsourcing business of Wipro Ltd. today announced the appointment of Puneet Chandra as chief marketing officer, IT business, said a press release.

Puneet will report to Shaji Farooq, senior vice president, Advanced Technologies, Global Alliances and Go-to-Market Transformation, Wipro Technologies.

Commenting on his appointment, Shaji Farooq said, ''Puneet has an excellent track record of building and scaling businesses. His multi-disciplinary experience in global markets and cross-sectoral industry knowledge will play a crucial role in defining our marketing strategy, in line with the transformation agenda for our customers.''

Puneet, a chartered accountant by qualification, was a successful entrepreneur for over a decade before joining Wipro 12 years ago.

In his last role, Puneet was the vice president, Corporate Business Services, Wipro BPO, and was instrumental in setting up the back office business unit encompassing Finance, HR and Procurement and Order Management processes, said the press release.

He was also responsible for expanding Wipro's global delivery capability and spearheaded efforts to set-up centres in Brazil, Mexico, US, Poland, Romania and China.
