Wipro appoints joint CEOs for IT biz

BANGALORE, INDIA: Wipro Limited today restructured its IT business with the appointment of Girish Paranjpe and Suresh Vaswani as joint chief executive officers (CEOs).

Paranjpe is currently the president of the company’s Banking, Financial Services and Insurance Business unit while Vaswani is the president of Wipro Infotech, the company’s IT services and products business in India, Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Making the announcement here today Azim Premji, chairman, Wipro Limited, said, “A joint CEO structure is the best way forward to leverage the depth of our leadership and maximize the opportunities ahead of us.”

The company has also decided to induct Paranjpe, Vaswani and Suresh Senapaty, the company’s chief financial officer, to the company’s board.

In another appointment, Sudip Banerjee, the current president of the company’s Enterprise Solutions Business, will move on to become a director on the Advisory Board of PremjiInvest.
