BANGALORE, INDIA: A knowledge sharing session on the new version of the ISO/IEC 27001 standard for Information Security (ISO/IEC 27001:2013) was held at Confident Propus Hotel, Bangalore.

The event was organized by Wings2i IT Solutions, a leading consulting and training service provider. The speakers shared the insights on the revised 2013 version of the ISO/IEC 27001 information security standard.

Experts from the information security industry, Vinod Kumar Agrasala, MD and CEO, Praveen K. Reddy, CTO and director, Thomas Kurian Ambattu - senior engagement manger - (All Wings2i IT Solutions), Nagendra Venkobaro - Strategic Business head -IT (South) BSI India, Ravindra Narayanappa - GM, IT/ITES Certifications BSI India spoke at the event.

Agrasala commented: "The new version of the information security standard will enable the organizations to safeguard the business critical information more effectively." Venkobarao said: "The new version of the standard is more flexible and aligned to the current best practices in the industry."

India has a significant position in the global IT market, with around 5,000 companies already certified for ISO/IEC 27001 information security standard has to migrate to the revised version. This security standard is considered as an industry benchmark for safeguarding business critical information by the organizations and its customers.
