The Windows Mobile Marketplace was introduced by Steve Ballmer at the Mobile World Congress held in last February to provide developers with an opportunity publish and distribute applications as well connect with the Windows Mobile users.

According to the announcement made in the Windows Mobile Team blog, “This service would provide Windows Mobile Developers a clear path to develop, test, certify and distribute their Windows Mobile applications via the Windows Marketplace for Mobile.”

It further added that throughout the registration process, links to key documentation for distributing applications through Windows Marketplace for Mobile are provided.

But it seems there are few glitches to registration process itself. As per the comments posted on the blog, it seems that the registration has been limited only to the US developers.

A comment posted under the name pocketmax at the blog reads, “International users are still being blocked, the credit card address entry automatically fills in "USA" as country and sets this as read-only so that no users with an address outside the USA can register?”

“How does the registration look like for the non-US citizens? Actually it doesn't seem to be available outside the US.” read another comment by Peter Nowak .

But the problem under registration does not seem to be only for the non-US developers, even there are few problems in the payment process for few.

“The payment step while registering for the marketplace is failing 'repeatedly' despite trying multiple times over many days. We are complete US based (California) so there is no international issue,” said a comment.

Responding towards the problems posted by the users a reply comment by EricN said, “Unfortunately, we are not accepting currency in all countries at this time. We will be adding support for other currencies soon. Please stay tuned.”

It further added, “Also we are working to resolve any outstanding glitches that some users have observed. Thanks for your patience.”
