Microsoft officially pulls the plug on Windows phone

Though the much-awaited and much-hyped windows 10-anniversary update arrived on August 2, many users are yet to receive the update on their system. And going with the latest information, the update may not be done rolling out until early November.

However, we can't blame Microsoft for the delayed rollout, because the company had informed that the rollout will happen in phases but the exact time period wasn't specified.

Now, ZDNet reports that it received an email from Microsoft that revealed the update will take three months to roll out to all users - which would mean by November 2.

"The Anniversary Update will download and install via Windows Update. The download is automatically available to you. It will begin rolling out on 2 August 2016 and may take up to 3 months to reach all users. Internet access fees may apply," the publication informs.

As of June, Windows 10 is estimated to have been installed on around 300 million machines around the world, and all of these machines are set to get an upgrade.
