Win $1000 for a processor design!

BANGALORE: Altera Corporation, provider of programmable logic devices, has announced the 2005 Nios Soft-Core Embedded Processor Design Contest in India. The contest aims to increase the students' interest in embedded processors while improving their design skills and results in the development of System-on-a-Programmable Chip (SOPC) system design.






Students from educational institutions in India can apply for this contest as an individual or as a team of three students. The designs submitted in this contest should be implemented using the Nios or Nios II embedded processor on Altera FPGAs.

The team winning the first prize in this contest will receive a cash award of $1000. There will also be a cash award of $500 and $250 for the second and third prize respectively. In addition, there will also be a cash award of $150 for the Best Instructor.






The deadline for the 2005 registration at the design contest is April 15, 2005 and the deadline for the final design submission is September 15, 2005.
