Wikipad to run on Android Jelly Bean

BANGALORE, INDIA: The much awaited  Wikipad, first unveiled at the CES, Las Vegas, will run on Android Jelly Bean operating system.

The new gaming device will be powered by a 1.4GHz Tegra 3, RAM, set at 1GB and onboard storage sits at 16GB. It also has a extendable storage, according to a interview published in VentureBeat.

The Wikipad will be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and will have 8MP shooter and 2MP front facing cameras, the exclusive interview goes on to say.

Abou the panel: The 10.1 inch display is an IPS panel running at 1280x800. For future models, glasses-free 3D may be considered.

"But what about battery life, a potential stumbling block for a device such as this. Apparently the battery is good enough to power 6 hours of continuous gaming, and 8 hours of video playback. Again, not groundbreaking but adequate for most prospective buyers.

No specific pricing or release dates were discussed, although the intention is to ship the Wikipad before the end of the year. That leaves plenty of time to get it on to your Christmas lists," the VB report said.
