Wi-Fi on Howrah Rajdhani from Sept 25

NEW DELHI, INDIA: This will be a true rejoice for train passengers. Indian Railways plans will provide Internet facility using Wi-Fi in three rakes of the Howrah Rajdhani Express by September this year, as a pilot project, the Lok Sabha was informed Thursday.

"It is a satellite-based system using a Wi-Fi for distribution of internet bandwidth in coaches and the likely date for implementation of this system is Sept 25, 2012," said Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa.

He said the estimated cost of implementation of the project is Rs.6.30 crore.
