WhiteHat Jr collaborates with Code.org® to bolster its proprietary coding curriculum

Coding Edtech startup WhiteHat Jr has announced that it has signed an agreement with Code.org®. Code.Org® is a global computer science education non-profit, that will help Whitehat Jr enhance its proprietary coding course. The partnership will help the coding edtech to customize its curriculum with Code.org® offerings. It further entails the use of App Lab, Sprite Lab, and Game Lab for WhiteHat Jr students. The company has also claimed that its courses leverage industry experts, educators, and engineers and multiple providers, including Code.org®.

Along with Code.org, WhiteHat Jr leverages multiple platforms to deliver its unique curriculum and class experience. Some popular names include Thunkable, p5.js, Google Colab, Google Dialog Flow, Tensor Flow, Visual Studio Code, Codepen.io, Expo and Jupyter Notebook, etc. Karan Bajaj, Founder & CEO, WhiteHat Jr, said, “Our product continues to evolve consistently with a special effort being put on our class experience and curriculum. This effort will get a major boost in innovation with the multi-year collaboration with Code.org.”

“This agreement supports WhiteHat Jr in integrating Code.org’s content and tools into their online tutoring service; enabling students around the world to learn this foundational subject,” said Hadi Partovi, founder and CEO of Code.org. “For parents who want to give their students extra educational value above and beyond the resources on our website, the agreement enables WhiteHat Jr to offer premium 1:1 tutoring from their 11,000 teachers using Code.org content,” he further added.

The parent company, BYJU's has also built ‘BYJU’S Future School’ on the success story of WhiteHat Jr. The interactive learning model aims to set a new benchmark in live online 1:1 learning. Further, both the companies together will launch the global program and Karan Bajaj will lead the initiative. According to the company, the Future School aims to cross the bridge from passive to active learning. For that, it aims to offer an interactive learning platform that blends real-time instruction with lessons. They aim to generate creative outcomes for kids aged between 6-18 years. The course, blended with coding, will further help students learn concepts while creating applications.

Other subjects like Math, Science, English, Music and Fine arts will help students engage in learning through storytelling.

About WhiteHat Jr

WhiteHat offers one-on-one classes with an expert and also offers classes to kids ages 6-14. It offers four levels of courses – Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Professional – for students in grades 1-9. The startup claims to have a revenue run rate of $150 million. EdTech Decacorn BYJU's acquired WhiteHat Jr last year for $300 million (roughly Rs 2,246 crore).
