Security experts have issued a warning yesterday about a new WhatsApp bug. The new bug allows hackers to access your private chats. It is a great privacy risk for WhatsApp users.

Google’s Project Zero team discovered this bug and warned iOS users to not click on any compromised website that has been circulating in messages. The Google team explained the threat and mentioned this bug can let hackers gain complete access to your photos, location and other important details the WhatsApp chats.

Facebook-owned WhatsApp has always endorsed itself as one of the most secure platforms which banks on end-to-end encryption. But the Google researcher, Ian Beer found the bug and mentioned: “Not only is the end-point of the end-to-end encryption offered by messaging apps compromised; the attackers then send all the contents of the end-to-end encrypted messages in plain text over the network to their server.”

Google said it was “only a small collection” of websites that had the capabilities to carry out this hacking campaign.
