WhatsApp, owned by Facebook, is rolling our new features. Recently, the company submitted a new update, beta v2.19.222, through the Google Play Beta Program. The new version has got various new features that include –
WhatsApp from Facebook
Till now, you can’t see WhatsApp from Facebook within the application, but the new update is bringing the change. Now you can see the change in the beta app – go to settings and you will be able to see “WhatsApp from Facebook” at the bottom of the screen.
Underage account ban
WABetaInfo that cracks these updates, mentioned about the ban of users who are not eligible for the platform. The company is going to ban users who are underage. For European countries, the minimum age must be 16 years old to use services and for other countries, the user must be at least 13 years old to use.
With the new 2.19.222 update, WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature to ban users that don’t meet the minimum age requirement. However, there is no clarification about how they are going to detect the age of the user.
Fingerprint lock
WhatsApp enhancing security to its platform and bringing fingerprint lock feature. The beta version has got the update and users can update their app to use the fingerprint lock.
Enable the fingerprint lock feature in Settings. The updated app will show you the feature to enable.
Once enabled, it will ask to provide fingerprint inputs.
And then ask for activation time for fingerprint lock.
Once, locked other users can’t access WhatsApp messages.
Also working on - Albums and Grouped Stickers for WhatsApp Web
WhatsApp is also working on its web version and planning to roll out albums and grouped stickers. The company is still working on this feature to ensure the best bug-free experience. This feature is not yet available but it will be available for both iOS and Android devices.
