Weston India starts new divisions

HYDERABAD: Weston Solutions India Private Limited today launched its environmental consulting and engineering design services divisions in India.

Both the divisions will be housed in the company’s current facility in Hyderabad. The centre would start working with a 50-member team with plans to increase the strength to 100 in one year.

``Weston will work here with global technology and manage with local talents to provide solution for complex environmental challenges in India,’’ said Patrick McCann, chairman, president and CEO of Weston Solutions.

Weston Solutions India Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Weston Solutions, was setup in 1998 to provide cost-effective and high quality Information Technology and Geographic Information System services.

The environmental consulting division would serve Weston’s existing clients having subsidiaries in India.

``Encouraged by the tremendous response to our IT and GIS services, we are now launching the environmental consulting and engineering design services divisions in India to serve the industry and government in India and abroad,’’ said Ram Pratti, president and CEO, Weston Solutions India Pvt. Ltd.

``We are growing at eight-nine per cent in the US. But we our presence is spread across 10 locations. The growth outside is 25 percent every year. So the opportunities are bigger outside,’’ said McCann.

Weston plans to invest $1 million on its Indian operation, according to Pratti. The company has a revenue of over $475 million.
