WebTek, Carnegie Mellon tie up for virtual classroom course

BANGALORE: WebTek Software private Limited is bringing the MSc in Computational Finance to Bangalore in partnership with Carnegie Mellon University, the prestigious home of Computational Finance. Initially, only those at WebTek will take the masters program scheduled to commence in May 2000.Though this course is ideally suited to engineering students, an arts student with a high aptitude towards maths can also do well in this course.

The course named Master of Science in Computational Finance is a two-year course costing a steep $20,000. Each student will have to complete 20 required courses, 5 each of School of Industrial Administration, Department of Mathematical Sciences, Department of Statistics and the Heinz School of Public Policy and Management. WebTek is working on the concept of virtual classrooms to enable students to study and work simultaneously. Al-Noor Ramji, the Global CIO, Dresdner Klienwort Benson, expressed his hope that this course will help retain top-notch IT professionals in India as this is a one of its kind course available in India.
