webMethods, TCS in pact on consulting services

NEW DELHI: webMethods, Inc., provider of integration software, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), have announced a strategic alliance to provide both onsite and offshore consulting services to webMethods' global customers. TCS' global reach, financial stability and vast integration expertise, combined with webMethods' industry-leading integration software, will allow customers to deploy webMethods solutions more efficiently and effectively.

Under the terms of the agreement, TCS would name webMethods as its strategic preferred integration vendor, and webMethods would name TCS as its strategic preferred offshore delivery and development vendor. In addition, TCS would form a webMethods Center of Excellence for internal training and development, which would be jointly staffed with TCS and webMethods personnel. TCS would also contribute to the development of webMethods' GEAR implementation best practices methodology.

TCS is an independent software and services organization, servicing clients in over 55 countries around the world. The alliance would build upon its strong international presence and working relationship with webMethods, providing TCS', consulting services to complement and extend webMethods' Professional Services Organization. TCS would also be the preferred partner for product development, helping to round out webMethods' extensive library of integration adapters. In addition, the two companies would participate in joint sales and marketing activities.
