WD launches networking products in India

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Storage company Western Digital (WD) unveiled a range of My Net HD dual band routers, designed exclusively with FasTrack technology.

The company banks on its routers portfolio products, and said that they have many capabilities. My Net family include N600, N750, N900, N900 Central for prices ranging from Rs 5,699 to Rs. 25,999.

With FasTrack technology debut, WD facilitates entertainment traffic detection on the network and fasts forwards it to gaming consoles, media players, smart TVs, Smartphones, tablets and other Wi-Fi connected devices.

WD sales director for branded products India, Middle East and Africa Khalid Wani said that they have products specially designed for game consoles, connected TVs and hybrid set-up boxes categories.

“India will be the fastest growing regional markets for routers,” he said. "WD is the only vendor," he said, "to offer full line of HD dual band routers that facilitate auto-backup and are extraordinary fast."

Company’s FasTrack optimization technology intelligently and automatically prioritizes Internet favorites like Netflix, Hulu Plus, VUDU, YouTube, Xbox LIVE, Skype and others to create smooth streaming experience in up to Full-HD 1080p quality.

The software feature includes network diagnostics and guest manager. The sleek hardware design, the company said, is complementary and is designed by a veteran team of developers to enable quick router set up from any wireless or wired device.

“My Net routers are the result of valuable insights gained from our success the Connected Homes and personal cloud markets,” Wani informed. The new routers will be available by the end of September.
