BANGALORE, INDIA: Storage company Western Digital launched Sentinel DX4000, a network storage solution for small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs).
WD Sentinel DX4000 features Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials operating system software and Intel D525 dual-core Atom CPU.
The WD Sentinel DX4000 is centralized shared storage and automatic server-based back-up and restore solution, for up to 25 devices (PC and Mac) in a network.
It offers data protection with built-in hardware and software redundancy for all connected devices in the network and comes in capacities ranging from 4TB, 6TB, 8TB, to 12TB.

WD Sentinel comes preconfigured with drives, RAID storage protection, built-in server based back-up and recovery software, redundant networking ports and a redundant power option.
WD Sentinel is compatible Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Moreover, WD Sentinel is compatible with Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard for file sharing among Windows, Mac and Unix/Linux operating systems.
WD Sentinel DX4000 small office storage server is available for an MSRP of Rs. 64,499 for 4TB, Rs. 69,999 for 6TB, Rs. 89,999 for 8TB and Rs. 99,999 for 12TB (local taxes apply). The WD Sentinel DX4000 is protected by a three year limited on-site warranty.
