WB Govt. intros e-stamping facility

KOLKATA, WEST BENGAL: In order to ensure more transparency and efficiency in its state government administration, the West Bengal government has launched e-stamping facility in ten offices of the registration and stamp revenue directorate. The state already has computer generated signature for filing returns under Value Added Tax Act and Sales Tax Acts.

Amit Mitra, Finance Minster, West Bengal said, "This will help the state government to bring transparency in the system and enhance efficiency in the administration." As per Mitra, the e-stamping facility would also help improve efficiency in property registration. He also said, "Finance department is introducing a web-enabled application software to track online movement of files to take quick decision."
