i-Way to have P4 Pentium experience zone

HYDERABAD: Intel, well known for its chip sets, will soon be

making headway inside Satyam's Internet services providing arm, i-Way. Almost

all the i-Way cyber cafes in Delhi, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad will

soon be having a 'P4 Pentium experience zone' by the month of August. The users

can come and have hands on experience on the futuristic processor. 

"With more people visiting the P4 zones, the awareness about its features will also increase," Narendra Bhandari, Apac regional Manager said. To start with, the project will undertake about 10 cyber cafes in all the mentioned cities and after sometime the number will be increased substantially.



Apart from this, Intel is also working closely with Hyderabad based Satyam Computer Services for developing core competencies on Intel Platform. "We have already started work towards this area in Hyderabad Bangalore and Pune. It is a combined effort from the teams of Satyam as well as Intel," he added. Satyam will be building software solutions for its global clients using Intel's architecture and this would give Intel a much needed market exposure for its high-end architecture in the global markets. Intel India has invested more than $ 20 million in its Indian operations, which includes its facility in Bangalore.



The company also has an investment fund and so far it has successfully invested in 30 Indian companies including Hyderabad based Pramati Technologies. With 75 labs and over 7,000 R&D professionals, the company has a worldwide budget of more than $ 4 billion for research and development in the area of silicon.



The company's strategy to associate itself with Satyam can be seen as a move to make sure smooth penetration of its architecture into the worldwide markets in the long run.
