BANGALORE, INDIA: Even recession gives you an opportunity to make money, provided you have the tricks to make hay!

And it is this strategy of making hay even in the cloudy days that has made search giant Google to come out with a new feature – Google's TipJar (www.google.com/tipjar) - helping surfers by giving away tips on save money (making money while at it!).

According to Google's official blog, “as we all navigate today's choppy economic waters, we'd like to put these beliefs into practice. That's why we created TipJar, we hope will help you discover the most effective ways to save money”.

The website, powered by Google Moderator, gathers tips on effective ways of saving money and enables people to vote for the tips according to their usefulness.

The tips are segmented into eight categories that include home, finance, shopping, travel, etc.

Ten tips from each category are listed in a page according to the positive ranking.

According to the website, so far it has received 2,787 tips and 39,458 votes.
