Wah Lee to set up new branch in South Korea

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: As part of the implementation of markets in the Asia Pacific, Wah Lee Industrial, the Taiwan-based semiconductors and flat-panel displays (FPDs) suppliers proclaimed their plans to set up a new branch office in South Korea.

They have opened some sales spots in China, Japan and Singapore.

The company points out that in the year 2010, they will focus on products for LEDs, solar modules and other renewable energy applications which is likely to be the key growth driver. Wah Lee envisages that revenues for 2010 will return to pre-crisis levels. They saw a revenue of NT$12.97 billion in 2009, down 25.6 per cent on year.

The revenues for the first five months of 2010 totaled NT$7.24 billion, which shows a growth rate of 69.5 per cent a year. The revenue ratio between the first and second halves of the year is estimated at 48:52.
