VXS marketing alliance set up by VITA

TAIPEI: Trade association VITA has announced that it has set up the VXS Marketing Alliance in order to promote ANSI/VITA 41, the VME Switched Serial fabric standard.

The VXS Marketing Alliance joins the VPX and FMC Marketing Alliances that are currently organized and championed by VITA.

The VXS architecture gives developers a logical extension and performance upgrade to their VME-based applications. The technology is currently being used in a range of traditional VITA markets such as military and defense, industrial, and medical applications. According to the recently published VDC Embedded Hardware & Systems 2010 Market Intelligence Service, it is anticipated that sales from VXS products will triple from 2009 to 2012.

As of now, the VXS Marketing Alliance members include Concurrent Technologies Plc, CSP Inc, Curtiss-Wright Controls Inc., Elma Electronic Inc., EVOC Intelligent Technology, Hartmann Electronic, Mercury Computer Systems Inc., Meritec/Joy Signal Technology, Pentek Inc., SIE Computing Solutions, TEK Microsystems Inc., and W-IE-NE-R, Plein & Baus GmbH

Efforts are on to encourage other companies to join the VXS Marketing Alliance.
