VSNL, Gemplex tie-up on VPN

BANGALORE: VSNL has entered into a strategic tie-up with US-based Gemplex, global provider of business-networking services, to offer customized IP-based International Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to enterprise customers in India.

This partnership will make VSNL the first VPN vendor in the country to be able to provide its enterprise customers with International IP connectivity to over 37 countries and 530 cities around the world. In support of this capability, VSNL has established direct and diverse interconnections with Gemplex’s global network for a variety of IP based VPN services.

Gemplex has established Network Nodes in Asia, Europe and the US, operational on a 365 x 24 basis, which are synchronized and meshed with local capabilities. These Network nodes, combined with the local partnerships, direct interconnects and SLA certified network extensions will enable VSNL and Gemplex to offer a wide reach of performance assured IP VPN services internationally.

With an established network covering most of important cities, VSNL has already deployed one of the largest IP Networks within the country.

In India, enterprise customers can directly connect to the Gemplex network via a dedicated local loop or VLAN connection. VSNL and Gemplex have jointly set up dedicated nodes in Mumbai and Bangalore and will expand to other parts of the country over the next few months.
