BANGALORE, INDIA: Which video is hot and which is not? Here's your chance to compare and vote for your favourite on YouTube's Slam.

Calling the new offering as a video discovery experiment, the website says it is an effort to help viewers find the videos buried in the site. In its blog, YouTube said it was initially launching the service in five categories - comedy, cute, music, bizarre and dance.

Pitching the contestants in one-on-one battles, the interactive tool spits out two videos side-by-side for comparison.

So, by voting you earn points for selecting the most popular video in the catergory. And  you can see how you stack up against other players at the end of each week.

YouTube crossed a trillion views in 2011, Rebecca Black's Friday topped the most watched videso.

Besides, the Ultimate Dog Tease got 74 million views. The talking dog appears to speak English, saying "You're kidding me!" after he is denied bacon by his master.
