NEW DELHI, INDIA: Iceland's volcanic ash cloud leads enterprises to focus more on 3D telepresence and videoconferencing technologies to sustain business operations

Recently, telepresence solutions have gained popularity with the increasing drive of enterprises to reduce their carbon footpcrint; and also in the aftermath of the recession where businesses have taken cost-cutting measures to reduce traveling expenses.

Now, there is another reason enabling enterprises to utilize 3D telepresence and videoconferencing technologies to sustain business operations. With the eruption of volcano under Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull glacier and release of ash cloud over most part of North Europe, an estimated 20,000 flights were disrupted. This, in turn, has caused millions across the globe to be stranded. Air travel is the nervous system for the business community across the world, and therefore, the ones affected the most were business executives.
