NEW DELHI, INDIA: iPhone 4, the sensational smartphone that Apple released on Monday, will be launched in India by Vodafone Essar.
However, Vodafone did not provide any details about the date of availability or the prices. According to a CNN-IBN report, it is likely that the iPhone 4's India launch date will be sometime in late September when the phone is slated for release in 88 countries worldwide. The smartphone will be initially available in the US, France, Germany, Britain and Japan.
Vodafone and Airtel are marketing the earlier versions of iPhone in India.
The much-hyped gadget was launched by Apple CEO Steve Jobs at the company's annual Worldwide Developers Conference held in San Francisco. In an effort to stay a step ahead of rivals like Google Inc in a red-hot smartphone market, Apple is planning its fastest-ever global roll-out of iPhone 4.
