VMware appoints MD, India

BENGALURU, INDIA: VMware announced the appointment of T Srinivasan as MD of VMware India. In this role, Srinivasan is also responsible for markets under the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), which includes Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Srinivasan is responsible for running all aspects of VMware’s business operations—including sales, marketing, services and channels, in India and the SAARC countries.

Srinivasan has joined VMware from Oracle India, where he was VP—Technology Sales. In this role, he was responsible for managing the company’s technology sales business and leading a large team of sales, pre-sales and alliance professionals.

“VMware continues to grow as the leader in virtualization, which is considered by industry watchers to be the most important trend in 2009 and beyond,” said Andrew Dutton, Head, Vmware, Asia Pacific and Japan organization. “We are therefore delighted to have Srinivasan in Vmware, to head our business in India, one of the fastest growing regions in the world for Vmware,” he added.
