VLSI Design conference begins in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Over 800 technologists, researchers and experts from across the world converged in the city of Hyderabad on Wednesday evening to mark the formal inauguration of 19th International Conference on VLSI Design and 5th International Conference on Embedded Systems conducted under the theme of “Mobile Embedded Systems”.

VLSI Design Conference 2006 is now in progress, and will go on till January 7 at the Taj Krishna. For the first time ever this year conference featured live web cast of the inaugural session.

The conference is organized into a weeklong sessions of Tutorials, Plenary Speeches addressed by speakers / presenters with a focus on VLSI Design and Embedded Systems competency areas. More than 100 technical papers and a free technical exhibition are set to cover the rapidly growing VLSI and Embedded Systems marketplace, with a focus on “Mobile Embedded Systems” and the issues that impact it.

Keynote speaker Dave Orton, Chief Executive Officer, ATI Technologies Inc., opened the inaugural session on Wednesday. The topic of his discussion pointed out the future impact and the significance of “innovation” in creating “Next Generation Mobile Communication and Beyond”.
