In its essence to go support "Make in India", the company hosted a contest last year. Rahul Patel, a design enthusiast from Mumbai made the heart-winning logo. He won INR 5,00,000 to make that logo. Further, Talenthouse India crowdsourced the design. Now, the company will carry out the logo on all its smartphone boxes.

The new logo carries the beauty of India; from technology to tradition. It also has the three national symbols- the tiger, the lotus and the peacock. One of the seven wonders, the Taj Mahal is also in India. This logo also affirms the fact that India is a sports country, too.

Additionally, Nipun Marya, Vivo India Director for Brand Strategy emphasised that Vivo supports the 'Make in India’ initiative. He said:

The new logo design that will be printed on the box of all our upcoming devices reiterates our commitment to make India a manufacturing hub and reinstates our mission of being an internationally local organization.

Further, we believe, after PM Modi announced the Vocal for Local or "Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan", many companies will have to revamp themselves as Indians will be focusing on going local.
