BANGALORE: Ending days of market speculation over his possible exit, Vivek Paul, vice chairman and president, Wipro, who was second in command at the Indian software services major has confirmed that he has indeed put in his papers.
Speaking to a news channel, Paul cited both “personal and professional reasons” behind his decision. Paul has been with Wipro since 1999. Paul would be taking up a position as partner with Texas Pacific Group, a private investment company.
Paul's move comes weeks after the exit of Raman Roy who headed Wipro Spectramind, the company's BPO division.
Wipro has announced that Dr Lakshman Rao has been appointed chief operating officer.
