Visual Photonics Epitaxy Company supplies heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) epitaxial wafers to TriQuint Semiconductor.

According to market sources, orders from TriQuint Semiconductor make up 45 p.c of the total revenues of Visual Photonics Epitaxy Company.

Visual Photonics Epitaxy Company, the market sources say, is likely to witness flat revenues in the first quarter of 2010. However, TriQuint Semiconductor has estimated a 10 p.c-15 p.c drop in sequential revenue for the first quarter of 2010.

TriQuint Semiconductor, a major supplier of power amplifier for Apple’s iPhone, said in a statement that it expects to earn revenues of about US $190 million in the fourth quarter of 2009. This is an increase from the earlier guidance of US $175 million to US $185 million, on account of the enhanced demand during the holiday season.

Visual Photonics Epitaxy Company has outdone Kopin to become the second biggest supplier of HBT epitaxial wafers globally. Besides, a 3-year contract between Kopin and Skyworks is due to expire in July 2010 – which is likely to benefit Visual Photonics Epitaxy Company, the market sources said.

Visual Photonics Epitaxy Company also supplies HBT epitaxial wafers to Win Semiconductors, based in Taiwan, and Sony Corporation, of Japan.
