HYDERABAD: Visu Consultants, a US based company with its off-shore

development center at Hyderabad, plans to launch a number of products in order

to consolidate its position in the Indian e-education space. The first of the

products will be a TOEFL CD, which will be released on October 9.

The CD, by simulating the original test, will help students identify and plug

their weaknesses in a better way. It is priced at Rs 950 for the Indian market

and US $25 for the International market. This is not all. In a matter of two

months, Visu is going to launch similar CDs on GRE, GMAT, SAT and AMSET

examinations and those will be followed by MBA and MCA entrance examination CDs.

It is also planning to launch Visu Testing Services, which will allow

students to assess themselves. It has already set up about 60 centers all over

the country under this service. A minimal fee will be collected from students

taking the tests, which could vary between Rs100 and Rs200 depending on the

test. Visu has already invested around Rs 30 lakh in the project. The company is

also all set to embark on infrastructure expansion. It has already taken up

13,000 sq. ft. of land in the Hi-Tech City for setting up a software development

center. Visu, which generated revenues of Rs 18 crore from the Indian market

last year, hopes to increase it to Rs 40 crore this year.

Visu Consultants chairman CC Reddy said, "We opened the doors of

international opportunities to thousands of students and now we are opening the

windows to the exciting world of IT. The incredibly expanding capabilities of

desktops and the advent of the Internet and Intranet have shrunk the world to an

unimaginably small size and the present mantra for success is ’to be connected’.

I am sure that these products that we are launching will help students to

understand their subjects and more importantly it will help them to understand

themselves in a better way."
