Virgin lures mobile customers with vDesire

BANGALORE, INDIA: Virgin Mobile, a mobile service brand, today further enhanced its handset portfolio by launching vDesire.

The new slim model with 11.5mm thickness has a chrome finish and has a capacity to store 1000 SMS apart from a large internal phonebook with 500 x 5 entries, said a press release. The phone features 65K color screen with FM radio, stereo headset, speakerphone, prepaid connection and lifetime validity. "Constant access to social circles is a top priority for youth consumers.

The need for style and instant communication has hit the younger generation like never before and SMSing has become an integral part of their lifestyle today," said Deval Parikh, chief officer, handsets, VAS and procurement, Virgin Mobile India.

"Keeping this in mind, we have introduced the vDesire phone that comes with a harmonious blend of style and features at a price that no other phone offers in this space".

The cost of vDesire model is Rs 1,699. It also allows the users one touch access to Vbytes, Virgin Mobile's data portal, from where they can download wallpapers, ring tones and games at a daily access charge of Rs 5.

To appeal to the youth segment, Virgin Mobile handsets have all been designed to present a blend of competitive pricing, style and features, the release added. This includes introduction of a few bundled offers such as vKewl, vBling, vSleek, vTrendy and vSwing.
