VIPA touts world's fastest PLC

Bangalore: Germany based VIPA GmbH, manufacturer of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), has announced the launch of SPEED 7 CPU, which the company claims is the fastest PLC available in the world today. SPEED 7 also allows the CPU to offer users the flexibility to meet the ever-increasing demand for storage capacity. In addition to this, the memory of the CPU can be matched to the application at hand without the need to exchange existing hardware. 





VIPA has also designed the SPEED 7 to interact with the automation applications on several levels. The CPU comes with an integrated Ethernet interface for easy programming in a networked environment and standard serial interface is included to accommodate communication processors and other peripherals. An optional modem interface handles remote maintenance and diagnostic duties. 





The SPEED 7 series allows users to connect special ultra fast, peripheral modules using VIPA's high-speed parallel bus. The integrated bus obviates the need for users to redesign their existing applications. VIPA offers FAST digital Inputs, FAST analog Inputs and FAST Profibus-DP and INTERBUS master functionality for its high-speed parallel bus. VIPA has developed unique skill sets pertaining to the PLC solutions domain.
