Vijay Shankar Madan replaces Sharma as UIDAI D-G

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Vijay Shankar Madan, an AGMU cadre IAS official of the 1981 batch, will be the new Director-General of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). He will assume office from April, 2013.

He replaces R S Sharma, who has moved to Jharkhand as the chief secretary of the state. Before being shifted to the UIDAI, Madan was additional secretary and financial advisor (AS&FA) in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), GOI.
