HYDERABAD: Gupta Technologies, LLC, a software development and data management solutions company, is gearing up to release the second version of Team Developer, a database administrator tool, in this September.

The cross-platform development tool addresses demand for flexible application development for SMBs, ISVs, and VARs. It also allows developers to write and deploy rich business applications on Window and Linux with full source-code compatibility.

Hypersoft Technologies Ltd, the premium reseller partner covering Asia Pacific region intends to promote this with product manufacturers. Dadi Bhote, executive director, Hypersoft Technologies said, "We are negotiating with product manufacturers, particularly in the space of financial, insurance, and banking products."

Bhote added that though the product is quite expensive (around $ 2000), it turns out to be a low-cost product in the long run as it does not incur any runtime costs. "While traditional tools need to be deployed periodically, Team developer just needs to be deployed once. This helps companies to reduce costs as they need not spend money on each deployment," explained Bhote.

Team Developer also comes with 128-bit encryption that ensures security of data over the transmission network. According to Bhote, traditional products only ensure 128-bit encryption end to end and not over the transmission.

Gupta originally created Team Developer in 1990 for Windows environment but is now available on Linux platforms. Bhote said, "Though Linux has been in the market for quite sometime there have been no products since Linux-based development tools don't exist. Though there have been some tools they were more rudimentary tools. Team Developer, with its extensive supportive features is just the right tool for product manufacturers."

Few Indian customers using Gupta's suite of products include TCS, CSC, SIS, Indian Navy, etc.
