The new value-added offering enables customers of the company's Managed Hosting service to quickly, securely and easily change online content like , intranets, extranets and blogs via an easy-to-use, intuitive Web interface, said a press release.

Verizon said the new Application Management Service uses Alterian Content Management Enterprise Edition - Morello, a software platform for integrated marketing solutions.

With Verizon Business' Application Management Service, business users no longer need to acquire technical skills or to depend exclusively on the IT department to update content, the release added.

"Verizon Business is witnessing a sea of change in how businesses and their employees are embracing the Internet as a medium for rich interaction," said Nancy Gofus, senior vice president, global business products, Verizon.

"Today's corporate users depend on up-to-date content and social networking sites to work smarter and collaborate more effectively. Verizon Business' new solution addresses that need, providing today's Web 2.0 workforce with the tools necessary to maintain a competitive edge."

According to Verizon, the new offering enables companies to boost creativity, facilitate secure information sharing and collaboration, and deliver information in real time. It also relieves companies' IT organizations of the burden of day-to-day Web-site management.
