Veritas acquires Precise Soft and Jareva Tech

BANGALORE: Veritas Software Corporation, a leading provider of storage management software for data protection, disaster recovery, storage virtualisation, storage area networks and application availability, has acquired Precise Software Solutions in a deal valued at $537 million.

The acquisition will help Veritas expand the addressable market into the adjacent application performance segment which will be a natural extension of our business. With precise addressing performance and Veritas addressing availability, enterprises will now have access to a unique end-to-end solution for maintaining application service levels.

Veritas has also acquired Jareva Technologies from Bangalore-based Jumpstartup Venture Fund for $62 million. This acquisition will make Veritas the only company that can offer both heterogeneous software solutions and heterogeneous automated server software solutions for all major enterprise platforms. This will be a natural progression of the high availability needs of enterprises that it already addresses.
