Ventura commences India operations

PUNE: Bringing the UK experience to India, Ventura (India) Pvt Ltd — a provider of customer management outsourcing services, has commenced operations through its new facility here.

Ventura is one of UK's leading contact center management companies and is a subsidiary of Next Plc. The company has a workforce of over 7800 people in UK and India.

The company handles over 50 million inbound calls and five million outbound calls, generating 500 million pounds in revenue.

Country head Anupam Arun, said that Ventura has invested over 10 million pounds for its India operations. In its five months of operations in India, the company has a strength of 500 people.

The number is likely to double by the first quarter of 2006 and touch the full capacity of 2000 employees by Q1 2007.

The Indian center will handle three clients — Next Directory, British Midlands and Book Club Associates.

Arun said there are plans to add more verticals shortly. Ventura manages customers in various sectors including financial services, telecommunications, retail, government and charities.

Over 80 per cent of its revenues come from third party business. Fifty per cent of the business comes from voice-based contact center management activities and the remaining from back office processes and collection.
