Vasi to be honored with TechnoVisionary Award

BANGALORE, INDIA: The India Semiconductor Association (ISA) will confer Prof Juzer M Vasi, deputy director, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai with the TechnoVisionary Award when it holds the Technovation Awards 2008 in Bangalore later this month.

Prof. Krishna Saraswat of Stanford University had won the honor last year. Prof. Bhargab B. Bhattacharya will receive the TechnoMentor award while IIT Chennai will grab the TechnoShield trophy.

Research scholars from IISc and IIT Chennai and IIT Kharagpur are the other winners.

Former president of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam will the keynote speaker at the award ceremony.

“A committee comprising of industry leaders and leading educationists have gone through a rigorous process of selection to finalize the winners,” said Poornima Shenoy, president, ISA. Academicians and researchers receive the award for their contribution to semiconductors.
