UVG Sekar joins iGATE Global Solutions

BANGALORE: UVG Sekar has been appointed senior vice president and global head of human resources of iGATE Global Solutions.

He joins the integrated technology and operations (ITOPS) company from IBM Global Services, where he was a key member of the Indian human resources leadership.

As global head of human resources, Sekar will be responsible for overseeing iGATE's human resources strategy and shaping its people policies to enable high growth and performance and will be based in Bangalore.

Commenting on Sekar's appointment, Phaneesh Murthy, CEO, iGATE said, “the HR challenges in an ITOPS company are quite significant and we wanted to reach out and get a person who has the experience and expertise to address these challenges.”

Sekar has over 25 years of experience in IT HR and has held senior positions in India and abroad across companies such as TCS, Wipro, Digital, AT&T, Tektronix and Professional Access.

On his decision to join iGATE, Sekar said, “iGATE's business of integrating technology and operations has the potential to bring a transformational change in an industry that has conventionally operated on a labour arbitrage model and will challenge the basic assumptions of HR as we know it today.”
