$500 m tech park project launched in Punjab

MOHALI: QuarkCity India Pvt. Ltd. launched its prestigious QuarkCity project today. The chief minister of Punjab, Capt. Amarinder Singh was the chief guest for the occasion.

According to a press release, the infrastructure project will generate unprecedented revenue for the state in addition to the 25,000 direct and 100,000 indirect jobs accruing from the 2.8 million square feet of income generating space in the business and technology park. Spread over 51 acres, the park will house approximately 700 residential units of different sizes and features. The total project investment is estimated at $500 million, states the release.

Through QuarkCity, Quark said it will introduce new and futuristic dimensions of construction. The integrated township will conform to the standards of United States Green Building Council. It aims to achieve the Platinum level LEED certification for the entire township, a certification, which only six other buildings in the world have achieved. The business-cum-residential park, is designed to be environment friendly and promises to be one of its kind, in the world, according to the release.

QuarkCity will offer amenities such as round-the-clock supply of electricity, water and maintenance services, and other facilities such as district air conditioning, high security, vast sub-surface parking areas and international connectivity. A team of engineers, architects, and project managers will accomplish this task in a systematic, phased manner.
