ALEXANDRIA, US: For the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS’s) Voluntary Private-Sector Preparedness Program (PS-PREP), a contract has been awarded to VSE Corporation’s wholly owned subsidiary, Energetics Incorporated.

The total value of the new contract over its one year base period and two option years is $3.4 million.

Through this contract Energetics will provide Mission Support Services to assist the PS-Prep Program in its purpose to promote private-sector preparedness in 18 critical infrastructure and key resource (CIKR) sectors. Through direct outreach, engagement, and dialogue with members of the CIKR sectors, Energetics will assist in securing significant leadership from the private sector in the development of implementing frameworks to apply standard compliance to the unique preparedness challenges faced by each of the 18 CIKR sectors.

Energetics President James E. Reed said, “The lack of private-sector preparedness was a central finding of the 9/11 Commission Report and is the source of the Commission’s recommendation to promote voluntary private-sector preparedness standards for disaster management, emergency management, and business continuity. We are pleased to apply our experience in building partnerships with the CIKR sectors and our understanding of the unique characteristics of these infrastructure sectors to assist in the implementation of the PS-Prep Program.”
