US-based KPO Aptara sets up Kerala base

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, INDIA: US-based knowledge process outsourcing company Aptara Inc has forayed into Kerala’s IT sector by kick starting a new delivery facility at the Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram.

The US-based company with over 3700 professionals deployed globally, currently services players in the publishing, media, manufacturing, professional services, financial services, retail and educational markets.

The company has said that the new facility will be home to a Publishing Center of Excellence and to hundreds of professionals who provide advanced editorial, composition and production management services to Aptara’s key customers.

Aptara has set up its new facility in a 4000 sq.ft space at Technopark. Aptara chose Technopark for its rich base of highly educated talent, state-of-the-art infrastructure, progressive business environment, and advantageous cost base, the company added.

The Thiruvananthapuram facility is the fourth of Aptara’s India delivery centers with the others located in Pune, Delhi and Dehradun. With the Thiruvananthapuram center, the company’s India headcount will be over 3500.

According to Dev Ganesan, Aptara’s president and CEO, “Increasing demand from our publishing clients has created the need for an additional center to provide advanced publishing services on a fully process-outsourced basis.”

He added that “building on our deep experience in serving the world’s leading publishers, the Thiruvananthapuram facility is positioned to become a global center of excellence for the kind of advanced services that publishers worldwide are now seeking for from their business partners.”
